Job Description Job Description SummaryThe Industrialisation Engineer – Manufacturing will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems for GE Vernova’s power electronics products used in its global HVDC projects. As a visible member of the manufacturing team, you will be one of the key experts for production processes and systems. Working within the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework, your input will help drive annual production improvements.In this role, you will utilise cutting-edge technologies to improve safety, production efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, manufacturing technologies, and a passion for innovation. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with regulatory standards.With an increasing workload, safety, quality, and efficiency across all operations will be critical to meeting our business targets. Using Continuous Improvement / Lean methods, you will remove waste and help ensure that production downtime is minimised.This role is pivotal in a fast-paced environment and requires both technical expertise and a desire to get the job done, as well as clear communication and strong working relationships with all stakeholders (Production, Quality, Procurement and Engineering/NPI).Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesNew Product Introduction and Change ImplementationSupport the industrialisation of new products and product changes into manufacturingCoordinate the implementation of new designs, variants and process changesWork with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and production readinessManufacturing Process and Equipment DevelopmentCapture manufacturing requirements to support the procurement of production and material handling equipmentDefine and develop manufacturing build strategies with engineering teamsSpecify, design, purchase, install and commission manufacturing equipmentWork with suppliers to develop effective solutionsLead manufacturing projects from conception to completion.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.Cross-functional CoordinationComplete and participate in Design for Manufacture, PFMEA activitiesCollaborate with engineering, operations, quality and supply chain teams to resolve issues and meet NPI and CI milestonesSupport supplier onboarding activities for NPI.Documentation, Training and Business SystemsCreate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, risk assessments, Management of Change documents and operator training materialsSupport the setup and ongoing use of manufacturing business systems, including QMS, LMS and equipment softwareEnsure processes and documentation changes are reviewed, approved and communicated effectivelyContinuous Improvement and EfficiencyDevelop and support strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste and improve process performanceUse Lean tools such to drive continuous improvementIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, flow, quality and utilisationInvestigate and resolve technical and process issues to improve quality, safety and efficiencyAbout YouYou will have a good general education, strong communication skills and previous experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production equipment.SAP experience would be an advantage, although full training will be provided.An enquiring mind and a willingness to learn are essential.Skills and Experience RequiredStrong commitment to EHS compliance and safe working practicesBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.Experience in a manufacturing environment with assembly and test knowledgeExperience with automated assembly and test equipmentExperience in maintenance strategy, TPM, OEE improvement or reliability-based improvement activitiesExperience with PFMEA and Design for ManufactureAbility to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issuesGood communication skills and willingness to share knowledgeAdditional Skills That Would Be BeneficialExperience in advanced manufacturing methods and Lean implementationKnowledge of HVDC product testingUnderstanding of business principles and cross-functional workingKey AbilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-motivated, proactive and results drivenStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsAbility to work to deadlines while maintaining qualityProficient in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantageFamiliarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; knowledge of ISO 45001 or equivalent is desirableExperience in New Product Implementation, process development and executionSAP and Lean Manufacturing experience desirableWorking PatternThis is a standard working-hours role on site 5 days a week; however, shift work or weekend working may occasionally be required to support manufacturing output.
