Manager I, Cyber Security Engineering

Overview To plan, supervise and direct the engineering functions within the Cybersecurity Technology Engineering (CTE) team. Collaborate with managers within the CTE to define the strategic vision for the team. Provide leadership, guidance, and technical guidance to ensure appropriate security protocols are leveraged to protect NFCU's brand, data, and IT assets from cyber-based threats. Responsibilities Serve as the technical manager for firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, network access controls and microsegmentationReview and approve production change requestsManage a team of about 15 network security engineersProvide vision for the future direction of the Cybersecurity posture of the enterpriseManage the deployment of new infrastructure and migration from legacy infrastructureManage the daily operations for firewalls, network access controls, and intrusion prevention systemsEnsure a standardized approach to network security policy managementAct as an escalation source for on-call engineersOversee the assessment and review of current technology to identify key risk areas to ensure an adequate level of control is in place to address risks Oversee vulnerability and threat assessments, mitigation and reporting activities Ensure that work quality, work methods, procedures, processes, and production statistics meet business goals and standards of member serviceOversee the development of technical documentationAct as a liaison for internal and external auditorsAbility to brief senior leadership on the team's activities and incident responseAct as the hiring authority for employees and contractorsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network engineering or cybersecurity engineering position (10 years preferred)Served as a lead engineer or a manager on a network security teamExperience with a common network security tool, such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, and/or ISEExperience with change control proceduresExpert knowledge of cyber/information security systems engineering lifecycleExperience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goalsAbility to work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendorsAdvanced skill interacting with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfullyAdvanced analytical thinking skills include summarizing information and clearly identifying key elements, patterns, results or relationshipsAdvanced research, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDesired QualificationsExperience in managing a cybersecurity team for a medium to large size organizationUnderstanding of how to migrate layer 4 security policies to layer 7 policiesExperience in firewall rule remediation with the use of Firemon or similar applicationGIAC, CEH, CISSP, Security+, or related Information Security certificationsProfessional Certification in one of the following- CCNP, CISSP, CCIE, PCNSEExperience in leading successful IT projectsDemonstrated proficiency in establishing processes and proceduresAdditional InformationHours:Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PMLocation:820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 221805510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 About Us Navy Federal provides much more than a job.
