HGV Mechanics wanted for Ireland

The workshop supports a mixed fleet of heavy goods vehicles and trailers, working with leading manufacturers such as MAN, Scania, Isuzu, and similar brands. The role also includes exposure to transport refrigeration systems as part of the wider operation. This is a hands-on position in a modern, well-equipped environment. It suits a technician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, has strong diagnostic capability, and is comfortable working independently while also supporting junior team members when needed. Key Responsibilities: Servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and trailers Diagnosing and fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance Working across a range of commercial vehicle brands Assisting with transport refrigeration systems where required Supporting and mentoring junior mechanics within the workshop Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards Maintaining accurate job cards and service documentation Recognised trade qualification (HGV Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter) 2–5+ years’ experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks Full driving licence preferred HGV licence advantageous but not essential Strong English communication skills (minimum B2 level: speaking, reading, writing) Eligibility to work in Ireland is required (EU/UK citizenship, current Irish work rights, or work permit eligibility). Work permit sponsorship may be considered in exceptional cases depending on experience Competitive, negotiable salary based on experience 2–5 years’ experience: €38,000 – €45,000 (Junior Technician) 4–7 years’ experience: €42,000 – €52,000 (Mid-Level Technician) 7+ years / Master Technician / Dealer Experience: €50,000 – €62,000+ (Senior Level) Competitive, negotiable salary based on experience Stable, long-term permanent role Modern workshop with strong technical support Opportunity to develop leadership and mentoring skills Exposure to a broad and varied fleet Accommodation option available (€130 per week shared housing)
