The Senior EHS Manager manages environmental, health and safety policies; develops procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety) used throughout the company. Ensures compliance with Country, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies. Oversees licensed hazardous disposal and monitors waste handling. Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. May be the point of contact for emergency personnel and manage workers compensation program administration.Key responsibiltiesDevelop and manage strategy, scope, schedule, costs, resources, and risks.Responsible for the coordination of stakeholders and management of the resources necessary to achieve it.Serve as the employee health & safety advisor supporting division manufacturing partners. Point of contact for employee health & safety compliance with local, state, and Country regulations and laws. Manage the Environment, health & safety team and people processes (e.g. performance reviews, career development, etc.). Partner with regional leadership to develop the employee health & safety strategy in line with regulatory requirements, business needs and continuous improvement goals. Ensure metrics and reports to both internal and external stakeholders are delivered. Oversee the Emergency Response Program ensuring adequate assessments, resources, and training are in place to respond to emergency scenarios. Ensure employee health & safety incident investigation process identifies root cause and monitors emerging trends. Implementation and management of EHS Standards, and EHS Assurance programs.Provide an effective management of change process with respect to the employee health & safety impact of changes to process, plant, equipment, capital projects etc.Promote effective risk assessment and risk reduction programs for the region and appraise leadership of the status of same at regular intervals.Estimate annual EH&S expenditures and contribute projection information for annual budget.Contribute employee health & safety information towards relevant Capital Expenditure Requests.Collaborate with corporate departments including Corporate Social Responsibility and Risk Management Groups.Works closely with functional stakeholders to evaluate existing process layouts in terms of new process integration, ensuring best utilization of floor space, minimized handling and optimum process flow. Establish priorities, using project management tools support the delivery of new products per cost and time commit.QualificationsProfessional certification (e.g. Certified Safety Professional or Manager, Certified Safety Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Sicherheitsfachkraft, Sifa, Chartered Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health-CMIOSH) - preferredMinimum 10 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment requiredEHS experience within a manufacturing facility strongly- preferredDemonstrated knowledge of and country/state/local programs for EHS required Prior direct supervisory experience requiredExperience in developing and executing training programs required Knowledge of process design and implementation, change control, auditing, SOP development, document management and risk management systems required Experience in GMP operations - preferred Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001 - preferredWe have signed the Diversity Charter and are proud to be part of this initiative to promote diversity in the workplace.
