Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will exercise first level supervision and oversight over employees performing difficult and complex tasks such as, aircraft servicing, airfield sweeping, passenger/cargo weighing, manifesting and aircraft loading/unloading operations. You will provide direct supervision for the Visiting Aircraft Line (VAL) to ensure performance of safe and efficient aircraft servicing, airfield sweeping, passenger/cargo weighing, manifesting and aircraft loading/unloading operations. You will plan and assign work, set priorities, advise employees on programs goals and objectives, and make decisions on problems presented by subordinate employees. You will coordinate and assist Airfield Operations with the Biannual MCAS Beaufort Air Show and Open House specific to static display and performer support requirements. You will oversee and assist to meet and guide aircraft to designated parking area, direct aircraft to/from parking position. You will secure aircraft by chocking wheels, attaching ground wires, installing lock pins and engine covers; and removing same upon departure.
