Assistant Hospital Housekeeping Officer - Detail NTE 120 Days - Veterans Health Administration

This is a Detail NTE 120 days. For Details NTE 120 days, applicants do not have to meet the qualification requirements for the position to which they are detailed, except for: minimum education; licensure; and/or certification requirements. An employee who is on detail is considered for pay and FTE purposes to be permanently occupying his or her regular position. There will be NO CHANGE in current pay even if this assignment is to a higher grade than that currently occupying. Upon completion of this detail, the employee will be expected to return to his/her regular duties. Housekeeping Hospital Management Series, 0673, Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR): Undergraduate Education: Major study -- chemistry or biological sciences, sanitary science or administration, institutional sanitation or administration, hospital administration, hotel administration, public administration, business administration, or other fields related to the position. Graduate Education: Major study -- public health or business administration with emphasis in hospital administration. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Developing local policies, regulations, and policies pertaining to facility environmental management, as well as mission statements, performance standards and functional and organizational charts as they apply to the service. Evaluating new policies and directives to determine the impact on Environmental Management Services. Assisting in conducting tests and experiments of housekeeping products and equipment to determine which are better and most cost effective. Developing, implementing, and monitoring service-specific customer service standards; ensuring EMS employees are trained in appropriate aspects of customer satisfaction, quality assurance and performance improvements. Overseeing and directing the daily activities of EMS to include appropriate cleaning and sanitation of all offices, concourses, seating areas, washrooms, canteen, operating rooms, patient care areas and all public spaces within the Medical Center. Overseeing and providing technical expertise for the design, modification, operation, and maintenance of the facility and infrastructure to ensure compliance with environmental management requirements.
