Food Service Worker - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker~ without more than normal supervision. Duties include: Cleaning equipment assigned to the work area for food preparation, operating equipment assigned to the area for food preparation, breaking down equipment assigned to the area for food preparation. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices Physical Effort: Work frequently requires lifting, bending, and moving objects weighing up to 45 lbs. Constantly standing and walking is required. Working Conditions: Workers are exposed to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scraps; exposed to dirt, grease and water in cleaning tasks. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverage has been dropped. Some workers are exposed to extreme temperatures of the hot kitchen and the walk-in refrigerator. Serve food and beverages as well as prepare simple food and assist in food preparation, as instructed. Set and wait on tables. Portion and serve food. Wash dishes, pots, pans, glasses and silverware. Unload and store food. Sweep, wash, mop and buff floors in assigned areas such as: kitchen, dining area and living quarters. Attend food counters.
