The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as: Ability to understand metal and non-metal properties to select optimal speeds, feeds, and cutting tools. Ability to Interpret blueprints, calculate shop mathematics, and sequence operations even with missing data. Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, report, and reassemble complex parts and faulty machinery. Ability to manufacture complete items using handwork and precision instruments like micrometers and calipers. Ability to adhere to shipyard safety, ESH, PPE rules, and nuclear/non-nuclear material controls. You will set up and operate a variety of machine tools and equipment to fabricate, modify, or repair precision parts, tools, and assemble made of metal and nonmetallic materials. You will interperet blueprints, technical data, and specifications. You will make adjustments as necessary to compensate for tool wear and maintain dimensional requirements.
