Well File Management Maintain organized, accurate, and up to date well files in accordance with agency standards. Review incoming documentation for completeness and compliance before filing. Track well status changes and update file systems accordingly. Coordinate with engineering, field, and adjudication staff to verify well data. Database Management Enter, audit, and maintain well, lease, and production data in internal databases. Ensure data quality by performing routine validation and reconciliation tasks. Assist with generating reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Support data migration, system updates, or refinements as directed. Field Work & Program Learning Participate in occasional field visits to observe oil and gas operations, site conditions, and compliance procedures. Assist field personnel with basic data collection, photo documentation, or note taking. Apply field based learning to improve accuracy and context of office based work. Visitor Services & Public Interaction Provide courteous, professional assistance to members of the public, operators, and partners seeking program information. Respond to inquiries about well status, permitting processes, and general program guidance. Direct visitors to appropriate specialists or resources when needed. Support preparation of informational materials, handouts, or front office displays. The government-wide "Semester of Service" Student Volunteer Program, as authorized under 5 U.S.C §31114 and 5 CFR Part 3085, enables Federal agencies to engage students in unpaid, project-based assignments of limited duration. These assignments are designed to align with each agency's strategic priorities, offering participants practical experience within Federal operations while supporting the advancement of targeted initiatives.
