MWR Snack Bar Operator - Commander, Navy Installations Command

Knowledge of the MWR department in order to answer customer questions and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity. Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point-of-sale (POS) systems as well as desktop computers. Ability to perform basic computer operations. Ability to read and comprehend in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides. Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.). Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of recreation and fitness programs. Sells food items operating a cash register according to standard cash control procedures, computes charges, collects payment, and makes change. Is responsible for own cash fund, completes daily activity report (DAR), and secures deposit of daily cash receipts. Maintains assigned areas in a neat, sanitary, and orderly manner. Cleans daily assigned work area, kitchen equipment, counters observing all sanitary, and safety regulations. Ensures proper security and closing procedures are followed to prevent fire and/or theft. Serves customers at counter, receives orders, prepares and serves fast food items such as frankfurters, chili, nachos, etc. Makes coffee according to number of servings desired and in accordance with established procedures for timing and brewing. Performs related duties including setting up food service line, replenishing beverage dispenser and making popcorn. Ensures-s the proper preparation, display and marking of food items and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures are pleasant, courteous manner. Assists in the conduct of a thorough and comprehensive safety program for all areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.
