The Commissioning Advisor is responsible for leading the commissioning activities for Gas Power Equipment- Combined Cycle power plant, ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and operating in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. This role works closely with engineering, construction, and plant operations teams to support the successful start-up, testing, and handover of plant systems.Job Description Key Responsibilities Planning and CoordinationDevelop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and execution strategies.Coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and operations teams to align commissioning activities with overall project objectives.Support the development of system turnover and start-up plans.Commissioning ExecutionLead and supervise commissioning personnel, subcontractors, and field teams.Oversee the testing, inspection, and validation of plant systems, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), and auxiliary equipment.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical or operational issues encountered during commissioning and start-up.Ensure systems are commissioned efficiently and are ready for safe and reliable operation.Documentation and ReportingEnsure commissioning procedures, test records, punch lists, and turnover documentation are completed accurately and maintained properly.Prepare regular progress updates, reports, and technical findings for internal and external stakeholders.Maintain clear records of system status, deficiencies, and resolutions throughout the commissioning process.Safety and CompliancePromote a strong safety culture and ensure all commissioning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.Implement site safety protocols and participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and mitigation planning.Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.Stakeholder Support and CommunicationServe as a key point of contact between clients, contractors, partners, and regulatory representatives during commissioning activities.Provide technical guidance and operational support to plant operators and commissioning team members.Foster effective communication across teams to support timely issue resolution and successful project delivery.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university or High School and equivalent +8 years of experienceMinimum of 5 years of commissioning experience in power generationOther Eligibility: Ability to travel to the construction sites - 100% of the time.Desired Characteristics Strong leadership and project coordination skills at Installation/construction sites with the ability to adapt to changing project priorities and site conditionsDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural project teams.Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and site conditionsAdditional InformationGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
