Description

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision, performing duties such as: 1) Performing routine and repetitive calibration, disassembly, testing, and installation on precision measurement equipment; 2) Preparing workstations from technical orders, technical bulletins and technical manuals to ensure proper precision and accuracy; 3) Utilizing various measurement equipment and standards such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, measurement machines to diagnose calibration problems; and 4) Selecting the necessary tools to perform tests, inspections, and repairs of precision measurement instruments and equipment. You will calibrate electrical, electronic, or physical dimensional test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TDME) with interrelated functions.
You will use electronic, mechanical, or pneumatic circuits to measure quantities to determine performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
You will use statistics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate measurement uncertainty.
You will use hand and power tools to repair or maintain precision test and measurement instruments (e.g., pulse generators, frequency counters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, gages).
