PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF) (TITLE 5) - Air National Guard Units

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 5 Excepted Service, will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP). The SECOND area of consideration will be Veterans' Preference (VP) eligible. The THIRD area of consideration will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The FOURTH area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The FIFTH area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The SIXTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: MUST possess one of the following: a. Degree in behavioral or social science or related discipline appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences; b. Combination of education and experience that has provided knowledge of the one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences; c. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that you have acquired knowledge or one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level MUST possess at least 1-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level of GS-9; experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources; knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures; experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support function. GS-9 Level MUST possess at least 1-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level of GS-7; experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources; experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures; experience interacting with a variety of groups and/or individuals; and the ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a social science procedural or factual nature. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
