Description Reinforcing Ironworkers position and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete using a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools. Apprentices of this skilled trade enroll in a time-based program for 2 years with an on the job learning attainment of 4,000 hours, supplemented by the minimum required 288 hours of related instruction.
