Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Dallas, TX.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00pm - 4:30am Driver/Courier Responsibilities:Load all necessary suppliers needed for the daily pickupsComplete daily pick up schedule in a timely mannerDeliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shiftHandle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient mannerSafely operate company vehicle and obey all traffic lawsUtilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks upWork directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as neededEvaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as neededSpecimen Processor ResponsibilitiesIntroduce and prepare biological specimens to the laboratory to ensure accurate processingVerify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submittedData entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposesMeet key production metrics and quality measures to ensure timely and accurate resultsUnpack and route specimens to their respective staging areasPack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities when requiredProperly prepare and store excess specimen samplesResolve and document any problem specimensOperate automated instrumentation under supervision if necessaryMinimum Qualification:High School Diploma or GED equivalentPreferred Qualification:Current or prior Labcorp experience1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment1 years or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experienceAdditional Job Standards:Proficient computer and typing skillsAble to pass a standardized color blindness testComfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samplesAbility to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of timeStrong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sightAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentHigh level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solveStrong communication skills; both written and verbalAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
