In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the establishment, administration, and oversight of a variety of security and training programs in the following areas: Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security, Information Security (INFOSEC), Security Education, Training & Awareness (SETA), Visitor Control, and Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) Physical Security; interpreting and disseminating security policies and procedures; and providing guidance, oversight, or leadership to subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Serve as JIATF South's Special Security Officer (SSO) responsible for organizing, planning, and executing security programs. Establish, administer, enforce, and provide oversight for the Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) Physical Security program as well as collateral Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), and Industrial Security programs. Establish, administer, enforce, and provide oversight for the Security Education, Training and Awareness (SETA), and Visitor Control. Responsible for providing authoritative security program guidance to the Security Manager, J2, senior staff members, command security professionals and the Special Security Officer staff. Supervise a staff of military, civilian, and contractor security specialists, performing a full array of supervisory personnel functions. Interpret a wide variety of regulations and directives to effectively promulgate security policy and procedures addressing command personnel, information, industrial, and SCI programs. Maintain awareness of new or develop security-related laws, Executive Orders, directives, instructions, and regulations to ensure conformity with National Security policy.
