The typical seasonal period is October through April but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October 2026. The Pacific West Region is recruiting for TEMPORARY seasonal positions not to exceed 1560 hours work in a service year. Dates of employment will vary between sites depending on funding, weather conditions and visitation. Within regulatory limitations, the length of initial appointment may be shortened or extended depending on work availability and funding. Duty Location is: Yosemite National Park. Under the close direction of at least a grade 10 journey-level position, incumbent will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems by performing duties such as lifting, carrying, and handing tools and equipment to the journey-level employee; helping to diagnose, repair, assemble, and install electrical components; helping to cut and thread electrical conduit according to clear instructions; cutting or drilling previously marked holes in walls; using test equipment to provide preliminary electrical readings; digging trenches or holes for installation of conduit or supports; maintaining electrical work logs; etc. Assist in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of high-voltage (above 600 volts) electric power control equipment, distribution lines, or electric-generating equipment. Assist with the disassembly, repair, reassembly, and/or testing of electrical equipment. Perform various laboring duties that require moderate physical effort. Regularly and routinely lift up to 50 pounds as part of electrician related duties. May be required to use chainsaws to clear hazards from electrical lines. Clean work areas and tools in order to maintain a safe and orderly workshop. Complete appropriate data entry in automated software systems required for electrical projects. Dig ditches for repair and installation of electrical lines. Physical Effort: This position may be required to perform electrical work from ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and other cramped and hard-to-reach places.
