You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Conducting independent and coauthored research into questions of economic significance and using advanced statistical and econometric techniques; AND Publishing independent and coauthored research in peer-reviewed journal articles, doctoral dissertation chapters, U.S. or State government memorandum, or equivalent publications; AND Planning and implementing applied macroeconomic and/or economic policy-driven modeling; AND Leading intra-office or interagency work groups to study questions of macroeconomic and/or economic policy significance; AND Developing and advancing applied economic and/or policy ideas through the use of economic research. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Conducting independent research into questions of economic significance and using advanced statistical and econometric techniques; AND Publishing independent and coauthored research in peer-reviewed journal articles, doctoral dissertation chapters, U.S. or State government memorandum, or equivalent publications. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Perform analysis of a wide range of financial asset classes and international economic developments. Initiate analysis that identifies the drivers of macroeconomic and financial market trends, pre and post sanctions implementation. Independently initiate and draft sophisticated, in-depth financial market reports on labor markets, commodities markets, financial instruments, currencies, and broader financial and economic conditions, as well as the implications of sanctions on sub-national sectors, including banking, insurance, and securities. Coordinate with other offices within Treasury, and other Departments, to ensure that government officials are well-briefed on the latest global financial market trends and the impacts of economic sanctions on international and regional financial and trade markets. Represent the Department, as necessary, at interdepartmental and international meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
