Lead Medical Technician - U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-07: Applicants must clearly identify in their resumes that they possess one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-06) or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, which includes: Measuring vital signs of applicants/patients (i.e., taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration readings); Collecting specimens (i.e., blood, urine, tissue) from lab or directly from patient; Documenting patients' medical information into a computer system; Performing laboratory tests and examinations (i.e., chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education Substitution for GS-07: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position such as Medical Technology/Technician, Medical Assistant, Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). Provide technical guidance to subordinates within designated Military Entrance Processing Center. Assist in the evaluation of applicant medical histories and physicals to determine ultimate medical fitness for military duty. Direct clinical workflows and personnel to guarantee all medical tasks were performed in accordance with established guidelines. Conduct diagnostic screenings and clinical evaluations (i.e., specimen collection, hearing and vision test) on military applicants. Verify applicants’ identity using previously captured biometrics (i.e., digital fingerprints and photographs). Conduct routine inspections of medical equipment to guarantee operational readiness.
