The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Planning, prioritizing and coordinating work involving multiple trades in accordance with technical and schedule requirements. Applying knowledge of preservation materials, techniques, equipment, ships layout and compartmentation as well as shop processes to accomplish production work. Applying knowledge of all accepted surface preparation, coating methods, and techniques such as mixing and application of modern exotic paints and coatings. Reading, interpreting, and correctly following complex instructions, drawing, specifications, engineering standard, and manufactures' requirements. Understanding trade terms and knowing trade measurements of critical coatings. You will exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trade and labor work. You will plan sequence of operations for groups of employees supervised. You will interpret blueprints accompanying job orders, requisitions tools, materials and equipment as needed. You will resolve working problems and take necessary corrective actions to overcome such delays as bottlenecks, equipment breakdown, material shortages. You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to assure efficiency, economy and safety of operations. You will train subordinates in work methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and safe work practices.
