Description
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Providing counseling services to military and civilian personnel on personal property transportation entitlements, allowances, procedures, and applying regulations for Household Goods (HHG) Using automated government transportation systems, such as the Defense Personal Property System (DPS) or the Web-Enabled Transportation Operational Personal Property System (ETOPS), to process, manage, and track inbound and outbound personal property shipments. Coordinating personal property services, standard household goods, Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs), mobile homes, and special item shipments, while ensuring all movements comply with applicable tariffs, tenders, and regulations. Ensuring inspection goals are met for shipments, storage facilities, and providing guidance on claims procedures for property damage. You will serve as a Transportation Assistant and be responsible for the procurement of transportation, storage, and related services for personal property of Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of War (DoW) civilian and military personnel. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Interprets travel authorizations and applies directives to facilitate personnel and dependent movements during permanent change of station. Audits transportation bills, reports traffic management errors, and provides technical information to departments and agencies. Creates, edits, and formats documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office to ensure accuracy and clarity. Certifying and approving invoices for payment of NTS storage. Performs a variety of related administrative duties, including serving as a Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Travel Manager. Serves as a housing inspector for the afloat leased housing program. Processes Personally Procured Move (PPM) claims through the designated government financial system (currently mLINQs).
