A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must possess a degree in Turf Grass management/Agronomy. Required to have a broad background in Golf Course maintenance and operations, having experience and knowledge of established agronomic practices. Required to have a knowledge of various types of pests and the pesticides required for treatment. Be a graduate of the Navy Department, Medical Entomology and Pest Control Technology Course of attend and complete the course within 6 months after employment. Experience in determining the method of operation and analysis of complex problems and interpretations of procedures. Required having a working knowledge and professional expertise of Golf Course equipment. Required having knowledge and understanding of the rules of golf along with the ability to view golf course from the perspective of the patron. Must possess ability to lead and supervise employees. Must have current and valid drivers' license. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Assists the Golf Course Superintendent in making determinations in the use of pesticides, chemicals, fertilizer and grass seed needed for the upkeep of an 27 hole Golf Course which includes greens, tees, fairways, roughs, practice range, equipment maintenance building, equipment storage building, chemical storage and mixing building, irrigation system, pump house and ponds within the confines of the Golf Course. Tours the Golf Course to review work in progress and to observe the condition of the Golf Course. Assists and ensures the proper functioning of the irrigation system and determines the correct amount of water applied on greens, tees, and fairways under
