Custodial Worker - National Park Service

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Dexterity and Safety Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Your resume must clearly show that you are able to perform custodial services and motor vehicle operations under normal supervision such as: Assist higher graded employees in performing basic janitorial and custodial work such as sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; washing windows and walls; dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures; and emptying waste cans using hand or with powered equipment. The supervisor provided full instructions, and all work was checked upon completion. At the full performance level (WG-02) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Cleans restrooms, windows, walls, floors, furniture, etc. Empties multiple trash receptacles Works on ladders and scaffolds to change light bulbs, wash walls, etc. Operates powered cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, leaf blowers, etc. Moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment Occasionally provides general labor assistance in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, roads, trails, etc. Drives passenger cars and pickup trucks to and from job sites
