This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Proficiency in operating heavy vehicles and specialized fueling equipment. 2) Knowledge of safety procedures for handling dangerous materials. 3) Ability to perform routine maintenance and operator preventive maintenance. 4) Physical capability to handle hoses, fittings, and other equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will operate pumps and valves to load tank trucks with bulk lube oil, filling to markers or amounts required from verbal or written instructions. You will deliver oil to government facilities and ships located at the Fuel Department, deploying hose up to 100 feet and pumping into containers, and/or tanks. You will use various fittings and adapters to provide mechanical connections to prevent spills and/or loss of product.
